Can you hear me now?
To expand on the exciting growth changes mentioned in our October newsletter, Advanced Gauging Technologies now has an updated phone system to allow for better customer service. Instead of an automated voice assistant answering the phone during the day, capabilities were added to ensure a live person is reached. In addition, rollover lines were added to help with the volume of calls, and our goal is to answer more calls so customers can be taken care of almost immediately. This should help our customers to keep their loss of production to a minimum. Although having more features available was a nice addition, the biggest change to the way phone calls are handled was hiring an office assistant to be the point person for all calls.
Personal Profile
If you called us recently, you have probably spoken with our new office assistant, Sarah Hess. Sarah has quickly become the central nervous system of our office environment. In addition to answering and routing phone calls, Sarah streamlines many of our office tasks such as invoicing, leak tests, and other paperwork. Her attention to detail, tidiness and happy attitude make her a welcomed new addition to the A.G.T. family.
Sarah was born in the central Ohio town of London and raised in the small, nearby village of South Vienna. She enjoys sports, can talk football with the best of us and her favorite team, the Steelers, fits right in with our line of work.
She also likes watching movies but her favorite pastime of all is spending time with her three furry children. Fiona and Beau are Cane Corso mastiffs and the house is ruled by Mr. Jangles the cat. When she isn’t busy with her “kids”, she likes to spend time with family who lives close by.
Coil Diameter Tip
In our last newsletter, we introduced the new exit coil diameter feature and over the ensuing months, a ton of positive feedback was received about it. Knowing the diameter of the exit coil can be very handy at times and we’ve made it extremely easy to see this information in our latest software release. To use this feature, simply set the diameter of the exit coil hub in the special functions screen and our software does the rest.
Using the average measured thickness of the material along with the footage count from the encoder (tachometer), the gauge calculates the size of the exit coil in real time and displays it on the main screen for easy reference. This feature is available in our latest version of software which runs on Windows XP and Windows 7. If you would like this feature and are currently running an older, unsupported operating system, contact our sales team for information on how to upgrade.
New Year… Same Pricing!!
Good News! Due to the continued sluggish economy and the ongoing political uncertainty in Washington, we have decided to hold our current prices for 2013. That means, no price increases for thickness gauges, upgrades, or service rates. We understand the difficulty our customers face in long-term budgeting and planning along with a host of other unresolved issues businesses face today. Accordingly, we feel that a little stability in pricing would be a good thing for everyone involved.
We hope everyone will have a safe and happy new year and we look forward to working with all of our customers throughout 2013.
