Beat the Boss Challenge
Recently we were all sitting around having lunch when the topic of who could beat whom in a foot race came up. A good bit of trash talking took place between Dan and Scott (who fancies himself quite the athlete despite that ever increasing age thing). As you can guess, a race was set up between the two to commence a few days later. The distance was decided, 200 meters, and a date was set, Friday, April 13. The day broke with a cool brisk wind blowing and the competitors arrived for work, dressed for the competition.
Once the race started, things looked bleak for Dan as Scott raced out to the early lead with good form and a great jump. At about the half way point, Dan shifted gears and blew by Scott, coming down the stretch and running away with the victory. Once again, youth has conquered age. Scott, ever the competitor, immediately started making plans for a rematch. Dan contends to this day that he has nothing left to prove, “I’ve already beaten that old man,” and refuses to give the rematch.

Here at Advanced Gauging Technologies, we welcome company growth. As we continue to expand, the requirement to take on further duties is even greater for each person involved.
In April of 2007, Dan Marchio was promoted from Service Technician to Production Manager. While still responsible for ensuring all of his old duties are done, such as building sub-assemblies, field service engineer support, inventory, building cables and gauges, shipping gauges and parts, and all sorts of testing, Dan will additionally be responsible for purchasing, quality and testing, technical support, inventory control, source inventory, computer repair, and communications.
As many of you have seen, Dan has been very active in the last year with things like getting married, celebrating five years with the company, and now, a well-deserved promotion.
