Esmark Steel Group in Chicago Heights is continuing their trend of updating obsolete equipment. Another AGT400 Isotope Thickness Gauge has been shipped to this location and will replace an older model gauge. Installation is scheduled for the first quarter of next year. This is the fifth gauge Esmark has upgraded this year.
Another AGT400 Installed In Chicagoland
Another AGT400, which will replace an obsolete GR200, is up and running in Chicago Heights. This is the fourth A.G.T. gauge that has been commissioned at Esmark Steel this year. This thickness gauge has been installed on a 60” Stamco slitter and measures steel <.100”.
AGT400 Goes To Warren, Ohio
A new AGT400 has shipped to Thomas Steel Strip Corporation located in Warren, Ohio. This gauge will be used to process low carbon steels, HSLA steel, along with copper, brass, nickel and nickel-zinc alloys with a thickness range of .008 to .079”. It replaces an obsolete LFE gauge on a temper mill. Thomas plans to take advantage of the AGT400’s networking capabilities along with the options for automated data entry and automated data gathering.
Upgrade Order To Atlas
Advanced Gauging Technologies offers an array of services and products including the ability to upgrade many brands of obsolete non-contact thickness gauges. Atlas Steel Products in Twinsburg, Ohio has recently ordered an AGT400 to upgrade a 1992 GR200 thickness gauge located on their 60” Chicago slitter. Installation is scheduled to be completed this winter.
Universal Buys Gauge
The Universal Steel Company of Cleveland, Ohio has purchased an AGT400 isotope thickness gauge, which will replace their outdated Loral 3500. The gauge will measure steel and be installed on their 72” slitting line.
