This week Advanced Gauging Technologies shipped its first AGT1000 to Santa Clarita, California where a shim technology company processes and distributes various packs, panels and shims used primarily in the aerospace industry. The AGT1000 will be installed on a 30″ conveyor system and will measure material from .003″ to .500″. The O-frame design allows easy, accurate and repeatable results to improve quality control and detect thickness trends immediately. This in part is due to its ability to provide detailed 3D graphing of each material being measured by the gauge.
Another Successful Gauge Startup
This week Advanced Gauging Technologies completed a startup for a new AGT800. The gauge was installed on a Chicago Rolling Mill that is capable of processing 18″ wide material with a thickness range of .020″ to .250″. The AGT800 will be replacing an obsolete Pratt & Whitney contact gauge to ensure strict tolerance specifications can be maintained as well as improving ease of use and serviceability. This plant produces a variety of products including: cold rolled strip, hot rolled strip, sheet products, coated sheet and strip and high strength low alloy sheet and strip. This is their third AGT800 Laser gauge purchase.
A.G.T. Ships Third AGT800 to Nova Steel
A third AGT800 laser gauge was recently shipped to Stoney Creek, ON where Nova Steel processes and distributes carbon steel, stainless steel and aluminum products. This gauge has a custom C-frame specifically designed for use on a 72″ Athader Slitter and will be used to measure various steel alloys with a thickness range of .050″ to .380″. With roll forming and flat rolled processing, Nova Steel produces steel tubing for a variety of markets, and A.G.T. will be there to ensure each product meets the strictest specifications.
Steel Technologies Order New AGT800
Steel Technologies in Smyrna, Tennessee has purchased an AGT800 to be used on their 84” Braner Slitter. This laser thickness gauge will measure aluminum and various steel alloys up to .187” thick. The products from this line will be utilized by various automotive companies and auto suppliers in their region. This will be Steel Technologies’ 32nd A.G.T. Thickness Gauge and we are looking forward to working together from design to startup and beyond on this new project!
Behind the Software
As A.G.T. continues to grow as a company we have taken on more complex projects in order to serve the growing needs of our customers. Because of this, it is vital that our staff can manage these growing demands and exceed every expectation. That led us to the hiring of our newest Software Developer, John Bihn. John has been with A.G.T. since August of 2017 and has played a pivotal role in the design and implementation of our newest advancements in our software. As A.G.T. continues to innovate and expand, we are lucky to have the expertise and dedication John brings to work every day.
