We recently completed another successful startup of an AGT400 thickness gauge, this time at Almetals, Inc. This new gauge, which is actually an upgrade of an obsolete DMC 410, is used installed on a 36” Ruesch slitter at Almetals’ Wixom, MI facility.
Esmark Steel Group Adds AGT400
A.G.T.’s Senior Field Engineer, John Fearing, commissioned a new AGT400 at Esmark Steel Group in Chicago Heights, Illinois. This gauge is an upgrade of a GR200 and will be used on Esmark’s 60” Stamco slitter with a thickness <.120”.
New AGT800 Commissioned at Lane Steel
A new AGT800 laser gauge has been commissioned at Lane Steel in McKees Rocks, PA. Startup was completed earlier this month in conjunction with the installation and startup of a new Braner/Loopco 74” Slitter. This AGT800 will be used to measure HR, CR, HRPO and coated steel with a thickness range of .015” to .250”.

New AGT400 Ships to Almetals in Wixom, MI
A new AGT400 isotope gauge has been shipped to Almetals, Inc. in Wixom, MI. This gauge will be used to upgrade an obsolete DMC 410 located on their 36” Ruesch slitter. Benefits of an AGT400 upgrade include all new electronics, A.G.T.’s proprietary software and programming, and state of the art coil and S.P.C. reports along with advanced networking capabilities.
