Steel Technologies in Pesqueria, Nuevo LeÓn, Mexico recently commissioned a new AGT400 isotope thickness gauge. This gauge is installed on a 72″ Braner Multi-Blanking line and will measure the thickness of stainless steel and aluminum with a thickness range of .250″ to .380″. This will be this location’s third A.G.T. non-contact thickness gauge. Steel Technologies now has a total of 32 of our systems in operation throughout North America.
National Galvanizing Order New AGT800
Advanced Gauging Technologies has received a purchase order from National Galvanizing in Monroe, Michigan for a new AGT800 laser thickness gauge. This system will be used on a 72″ Pro-Eco pickle line to measure galvanized and various steel alloys up to .500″ thick. This is National Galvanizing’s second gauge purchase this year and delivery is scheduled for July of 2018. An AGT400 upgrade of an obsolete gamma GR100 gauge was shipped to National Galvanizing earlier this month for use on a 60″ Pro-Eco Slitting line.
Olympic Steel Orders New AGT800 Laser Thickness Gauge
Advanced Gauging Technologies has received an order for a new AGT800 laser thickness gauge from Olympic Steel’s Detroit, Michigan plant. This system will be used on a 72″ Niagra slitting line where it will measure aluminum from .015″ to .130″ thick for the automotive market. Delivery and installation is scheduled for May of 2018. This is Olympic’s second A.G.T. gauge purchase, the first being an AGT400 isotope gauge in 2000 which is still in operation today.
A.G.T. Ships First AGT1000
This week Advanced Gauging Technologies shipped its first AGT1000 to Santa Clarita, California where a shim technology company processes and distributes various packs, panels and shims used primarily in the aerospace industry. The AGT1000 will be installed on a 30″ conveyor system and will measure material from .003″ to .500″. The O-frame design allows easy, accurate and repeatable results to improve quality control and detect thickness trends immediately. This in part is due to its ability to provide detailed 3D graphing of each material being measured by the gauge.
Another Successful Gauge Startup
This week Advanced Gauging Technologies completed a startup for a new AGT800. The gauge was installed on a Chicago Rolling Mill that is capable of processing 18″ wide material with a thickness range of .020″ to .250″. The AGT800 will be replacing an obsolete Pratt & Whitney contact gauge to ensure strict tolerance specifications can be maintained as well as improving ease of use and serviceability. This plant produces a variety of products including: cold rolled strip, hot rolled strip, sheet products, coated sheet and strip and high strength low alloy sheet and strip. This is their third AGT800 Laser gauge purchase.
