Ronald L. Cook 1939-2001
We are extremely sad to report our loss of Ron Cook to multiple myeloma (a rare form of bone cancer) on August 4, 2001 at the young age of 62.
Ron was born and raised in the central Ohio area. Always an overachiever, he received both his Driver’s license and Pilot’s license on his sixteenth birthday. In the 50’s, Ron performed electronic maintenance and instruction on the Hawk missile system while in the U.S. Army. In the early sixties, he was responsible for operation and maintenance of the D.E.W. Line arctic coast radar communication station for the Apollo project. During the 70’s, he sold and serviced isotope thickness gauges. He combined all his years of experience and wisdom to co-found Advanced Gauging Technologies (A.G.T.) in 1997.
Ron was a member of the American Association of Iron and Steel Engineers and the American Legion Post #171. Ron and Coralie were married for 38 years. He is survived by wife, Coralie; children, Scott Cook and Tracy Bright, Bob and Laura Cook, Michelle Cook, Mike and Lorie Cook; grandchildren, Sarah, Susie, Robby, Richelle and Lauren.
Known and loved by nearly everyone he ever met, Ron will be sorely missed by us all.
On a related note of sad news, Ron’s faithful canine of 11 years – Terminator also lost his battle with bone cancer during the same month.
